Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 07 September 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Teechly website and services ("Teechly", "we", "us"). By browsing the site, submitting an enquiry, or registering as a teacher, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. What Teechly is — and is not

Teechly is a discovery platform. We help parents and students find independent tuition teachers, and we help teachers be discovered. When you find a teacher you like, you contact them directly (usually on WhatsApp) and make your own arrangements.

Specifically, Teechly does not:

  • employ, supervise, or manage the teachers listed on the platform;
  • set, collect, hold, or process tuition fees between parents and teachers;
  • deliver, host, or supervise the classes themselves;
  • guarantee any particular academic result, exam score, or improvement.

Teachers listed on Teechly are independent third parties. Any contract for tuition is formed directly between you and the teacher, and Teechly is not a party to it.

3. Teacher verification — what we check

Before a teacher's profile goes live, our team reviews the application and any qualification documents submitted. This is a documentary review: we check that the profile is complete and plausible and that the submitted certificates appear genuine.

This review is not a criminal background check, a police verification, or an endorsement of teaching quality. Parents remain responsible for their own due diligence before engaging a teacher — including meeting or speaking with them, asking for references, and supervising sessions involving minors as they see fit.

4. Using Teechly as a parent or student

  • You must provide accurate contact details when submitting an enquiry.
  • You agree to use teacher contact details only to arrange tuition, and not for marketing, spam, or any unlawful purpose.
  • If you are under 18, please use the platform only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
  • Reviews you post must reflect genuine, first-hand experience with that teacher.

5. Using Teechly as a teacher

  • All information and documents you submit must be true, current, and your own.
  • Misrepresenting qualifications, experience, or identity may result in immediate removal from the platform.
  • You are responsible for your own tax, regulatory, and legal obligations arising from your teaching work.
  • You must respond to enquiries professionally and treat students and parents with respect.
  • You must keep login credentials issued to you confidential and not share your account.
  • You are solely responsible for the safety, conduct, and quality of the tuition you provide.

6. Teacher subscriptions and payments

Teachers may subscribe to a paid plan for increased visibility (such as featured placement on the homepage and higher ranking in search results). Subscription payments are processed by our third-party payment provider; Teechly does not store your full card details.

Subscription fees are for platform visibility only and do not guarantee a specific number of enquiries, students, or income. Unless required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable once the billing period has begun. If your profile is removed for breaching these terms, no refund is due.

7. Reviews and content

Reviews are submitted by users and verified by mobile number. We may remove reviews or other content that is abusive, defamatory, misleading, discriminatory, or that contains personal data of third parties. We do not routinely pre-screen every review, and reviews reflect the opinions of the people who wrote them, not Teechly.

You retain ownership of content you upload, but grant Teechly a licence to display it on the platform for the purpose of operating the service.

8. Suspension and removal

We may suspend or remove any account or listing — with or without notice — where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, where information provided is false, or where there is a risk to the safety of students or other users.

9. Limitation of liability

Teechly provides the platform on an "as is" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the conduct, competence, punctuality, or safety of any teacher, for disputes over fees, for the quality or outcome of tuition, or for any loss arising from arrangements you make with a teacher.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
